We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring smooth payroll and accounting processes across our organization.

Job Description

Role Overview

The Payroll & Accounting Specialist will be at the heart of our operations, managing payroll, benefits, and contributing to key accounting functions. This role requires a sharp attention to detail, a thorough understanding of payroll compliance, and a collaborative spirit to work alongside Human Resources and other departments. Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management: Process bi-weekly payroll, handle wage adjustments, special pay runs, and resolve associate payroll inquiries efficiently.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage benefit deductions, assist with enrollments, and ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, and other regulations.
  • Accounting Support: Support accounts payable/receivable functions, general ledger entries, and assist with month-end and year-end financial processes. 
  • Tax Compliance: File payroll tax reports, ensure timely payments, and handle year-end tax forms such as W-2s and 1095s. 
  • Audit & Reporting: Generate payroll reports for management and assist in internal/external audit preparations.
  • Process Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to improve payroll and accounting practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency. 
  • Associate Support: Provide excellent customer service, assisting associates with payroll and benefits-related questions and issues.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • 2-3 years of payroll and accounting experience
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations 
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
