Environmental Statement
Sustainability and environmentally sound manufacturing and distribution are at the core of Outlook Nebraska. Our roots in environmentally friendly manufacturing go back more than 20 years and have evolved with adoption of best practices from sustainability thought leaders around the world.
Raw Materials
Outlook Nebraska consumable paper products are made from 100% recycled materials. Our tissue products contain at least 30% post-consumer recycled content while our towels contain at least 40% post-consumer recycled content.
Packaging
Outlook Nebraska believes sustainability goes beyond the products themselves. The paper wraps and cardboard cores for our consumable paper products are made from 100% recycled material. The plastic wrap on our kitchen roll towels contains a varying amount of recycled content depending on availability of appropriate recycled material.
Corrugated boxes for our products are made from at least 40% and often up to 100% of recycled content. Our boxes are 100% recyclable, and our box manufacturing partner participates in the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
Because recycled content cannot always meet required technical specifications for clear box tape and plastic pallet wrap, these components are not made from recycled materials.
Production Process
Outlook Nebraska’s consumable paper manufacturing process creates minimal landfill waste. Materials received at our manufacturing facilities are incorporated into our products or recycled to the fullest extent possible. Outlook Nebraska’s quality management process conforms to the ISO 9001:2015 International Standard.
Social Statement
Outlook Nebraska’s contributions to the community go beyond making monetary contributions or paying volunteer hours to assist disadvantaged populations in our communities. Outlook Nebraska was founded in 2000 as a not-for-profit organization with just four blind associates producing paper products and a clear vision for the future. Outlook’s mission is to positively impact everyone who is blind or visually impaired through meaningful employment and enrichment opportunities. Today, Outlook Nebraska is the largest employer of the blind and visually impaired in Nebraska.
Governance
Outlook Nebraska is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization wholly owned by Outlook Collaborative, also a registered 501(c)(3). Both entities are governed by a diverse board of independent, unpaid volunteers dedicated to Outlook’s mission of positively impacting everyone who is blind or visually impaired. Outlook Nebraska has been producing tissue and towel products for more than 20 years. A copy of Outlook’s Form 990 is available upon request. DUNS code 001807549; NAICS code 322291
