Finisher - Full Time

Be part of a team producing environmentally friendly tissue and towel products for commercial and government facilities. This hands-on position puts the finishing touches on our products before they are shipped across the country. 

Job Description

Packaging finished paper products into cases as needed. Monitors the quality and quantity of all products produced. Operate the wrappers while maintaining high quality standards. Operate the palletizer while monitoring the conveyor lines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Finisher 1

  • Packaging products into cases as needed. Monitors the quality and quantity of the goods produced.
  • Able to open flat pack box bundles, sort for correct side up.
  • Distinguishes between 1 and 2 ply boxes with difference in manufacturing technique.
  • Hand packs special cases of single roll tissue and industrial products into appropriate boxes efficiently. *Single Roll Tissue at a minimum of 35 rolls per minute*
  • Able to assist cases down the conveyor and into the tape machine.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Meets the daily team goals based upon information provided by the Converting Facilitator.
  • Able to remove poor quality rolls from the conveyor line before packing them into finished cases.
  • Able to separate roll quality from 1st quality and 2nd’s quality.
  • Insures all products meet the Outlook Nebraska quality standards.
  • Insures all of the necessary information is communicated to other team members.
  • Maintains a safe work place for all associates.
  • Participates in training meetings as required for safety, quality or other needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Finisher 2

  • Able to distinguish between 1 and 2 ply boxes with difference in manufacturing technique.
  • Able to assist cases down the conveyor and into the tape machine.
  • Able to remove poor quality rolls from the conveyor line before packing them into finished cases
  • Able to distinguish roll quality. (Acceptable 1st quality and 2nd’s quality)
  • Able to operate the palletizer or the wrapper.(Able to run 1)  Must meet  the duties and responsibilities below to qualify for Finisher 2

Wrapper duties and responsibilities

  • Able to follow all safety measures and understand all safety settings of the Wrappers
  • Able to reset all clutches on both wrappers.
  • Able to clear all jams in wrappers in a timely manner.
  • Able to reset in-feed by placing rolls in appropriate locations.
  • Able to operate the touch screen panel to maximize the wrappers uptime.
  • Able to hear and understand the voice commands of the wrappers.
  • Able to clear paper jams from the knife area safely.
  • Able to feel or locate tipped or poor quality rolls before they enter the wrappers.
  • Able to ready wrapper for product change, clear line, empty machine, etc.
  • Must keep the wrappers clean and free from paper build up.

Palletizer duties and responsibilities

  • Able to follow all safety measures and understand all safety settings of the Palletizer.
  • Able to manipulate the cases for the proper stacking direction.
  • Able to apply labels as necessary to the appropriate cases on the designated levels of each pallet.
  • Able to pull off cases with damage from the line.
  • Able to apply tape to unsealed cases before they are presented to the palletizer.
  • Able to operate the touchscreen on the Palletizer.
  • Able to understand and complete tasks provided by the voice system.
  • Able to load pallets into the secured magazine area by means of a pallet jack.
  • Able to adjust pallet stack to acceptable straightness.
  • Able to adjust pallet when hooks do not insert correctly.
  • Able to pull out unacceptable pallets from magazine.
  • Able to push, pull, or lift up to 50lbs. to load or clear palletizer.
  • 702 Industrial Finisher 3 must be capable of hand stacking packaged cases onto pallets.

Finisher 3

Packaging products into cases as needed. Monitor the conveyors. Monitors the quality and quantity of the goods produced. Operate the wrappers while maintaining high quality standards and operate the palletizer.

Required Education - Experience
